  2. I would like to clarify your statement about “two Georgian” films being nominated for the upcoming Academy Awards/Oscars.
    1. Tangerines (Mandariinid მანდარინები) was presented for consideration to the Academy from Estonia and has made it to January shortlist. It was directed by a Georgian, Zaza Urushadze
    2.Corn Island was presented to the Academy for consideration by Georgia and was directed by Giorgi Ovashvili, and has also made it to the January shortlist.

    Both films are part of a group of nine films to be reviewed in early January 2015. From these nine, five will be chosen as finalists, when they can be called “Nominees” .
