  1. The MEME this week relates to the the 25th anniversary of the 9th of April tragedy. On Rustaveli Avenue, at the memorial to the victims of the massacre in front of the Parliament, people saw a wreath braided with a white, blue and red ribbon laying. The deputy governor of Samgori District believed the ribbon to be symbolic of the Russian flag, and so he burned it. It turns out that the burned ribbon was not of Russian origin, it was a Slovakian flag brought to the memorial, along with a wreath by the Slovak delegation headed by Slovakia’s Vice President on his official visit to Georgia. 2. I thought you might like to highlight the new UK Visa changes. Entertainers as in any choirs or individuals hoping to come to the UK assuming they just need sponsorship as was required by the old business/entertainment visa will not now qualify. Artists can only now come if they are sponsored by Tier 5 Approved Sponsors (no existing group in the UK has this status as it is extremely difficult and onerous to get) or if they are invited to attend a festival on the ‘approved list’ which only has 24 festivals on it thus far. These new regulations came in on March 14th 2014 and are being adjusted all the time with the latest change coming in April 10th. https://www.gov.uk/tier-5-temporary-worker-creative-and-sporting-visa/eligibility This is already having a huge impact on the cultural events planned in the UK for visiting Georgian artists and does not look to be getting any better any time soon.

  3. Wow, that must have been a real comfortable khashi bath, or whatever it was you were in when you were pimping that new spa, when you let out that massive yawn. Keep it up, it breaks up the monotonous reading of old news.
I guess it’s because you are in business with the Bokaria family that you failed to mention the Nelson Mandela reference made by that self-important strumpet, Chergoleishvili, when speaking about hubby’s possible imprisonment. I enjoy seeing these disgraced former officials get squeamish when being fingered about their past abuses. To compare Nelson Mandela to Giga or anyone else in the UNM, is an insult to the Mandela family, as the only resemblance to him and the UNM are that they all are dead.

Oh yea, since you are in city by the bay, couldn’t you have picked out a better song to represent “The City”..sheesh, what’s up for the next week, “We built this City” or “Light’s”??
